Regal Rings is all about a simple
design and an explosion of color! I love projects that have a
lot of color play and repetitive components. There is something
addictive about that combination.
You will learn
how to create 3-D rings made with Peyote stitch and a Netting
stitch variation, to incase a string of pearls. The rings interlock
in the front for a great 3-D look. As the rings work their way
around to the back of the neck they are joined by simple bands
of Peyote stitch, ending in a vermeil clasp. Each ring is approximately
1 1/4" in diameter and 1/4" thick.

Tips for building
your own color palette:
Are you afraid of color?
Using color successfully, just takes practice. Do yourself a
favor and invest in a small color wheel. Trust me, it is not
hard to use. It is a wonderful tool!
Resource Note:
EK Success
makes two great color wheels and includes easy to follow instructions.
They
are available here on my web site.
A necklace made
with one main component needs a sophisticated color palette.
Begin building your palette by picking one fabulous Delica bead
color. Sprinkle some out on your work surface. Using that one
bead and the color wheel as a guide, pick 5 more colors of Delica
beads to go with the main one.
Now pick 8 colors
of 15/0 seeds and 6 colors of 11/0s (match the 11/0 seed beads
to some of the 15/0 seed beads). The 15/0 seed beads can match,
compliment or contrast with the Delica beads.
Color trick: Beads with an AB finish
offer a great inspiration for picking colors. Use the color wheel
and the bead finishes to your advantage!
I hope that you
enjoy making Regal Rings. See you in the next issue!
Happy beading,
Cynthia
