Shrouded
in the mist there was a faraway place called Avalon. Many thought
it was real and many a myth. The mist concealed a place of great
beauty and the people therein were mostly women. Many were highly
spiritual and had special powers that helped them deal with the
outside world.

This piece was
named after this magical place because the vessel is actually
2 layers. The inside layer isn’t seen until the lid is lifted
to reveal the support layer of the vessel. The inner layer is
peyote stitch with a decreased base. I use the outer layer of
the vessel as a foundation for embellishments and fringe. The
piece is completed with an embellished lid, a wonderful beaded
bail and a peyote tube necklace.
