The beauty of nature
has astounded artists since the beginning of time. From painting
to sculpture to music, artists have used their inspiration to
create the masterpieces of their time. Celtic Garden Necklace
is a tribute to Ireland and is the second piece in my Garden
Necklace Series. Wild fuchsias are a stark contrast against the
intense green foliage and the dramatic geography that appears
along Ireland's famous cliffs.
This neckpiece
focuses on a three dimensional fuchsia constructed in peyote
stitch, single and double, circular and flat. The petals are
constructed using 2-drop peyote stitch. The petals are stitched
to a beaded form to give the flower volume and shape. The upper
layer of petals flow into a bail connection so that the flower
hangs from the necklace as a pendant. One peyote, one Herringbone
and one Herringbone variation necklace tube come together to
lend texture and pattern to the necklace. The necklace components
are gathered into a beaded closure.
FYI: Each kit
is inspired by and named after a real fuchsia.
