Natural topaz
occurs primarily clear and is about an 8 on the hardness scale.
Topaz reacts well to different forms of surface enhancement techniques.
The two most common techniques are irradiation and a process
that adds a thin film deposition surface enhancement. This is
high tech stuff! Both finishes are amazing. Irradiation is permanent
and stable. The other surface enhancement is a diffusion coating.
This coating is very similar to the finish that has been added
to our custom-coated CZ's. Although permanent, the stone can't
be re-cut or re-polished without removing the high luster finish.
You can't fire these stones with Precious Metal Clay.

for each stone unless you have another use in mind.
