The necklace
is finished except for the closure. This is a stopping point
for a lot of my students. Most feel that the closure is sort
of an after thought or a "make do" just to get it finished.
Have you thought about making your own buttons? The Buttons Workshop
Series was designed to show students how to add that little special
touch to their work, a handmade closure. I will warn you, they
are addicting! Beyond Buttons will explore a collection of new
buttons that I have designed. Students do not have to take these
workshops in order. Techniques used will be peyote, herringbone
and Brick stitches, bead embroidery, edge and blanket stitching,
surface embellishment and much more. As with the Buttons workshop,
we will make as many as we can during class time. Students will
receive a handout that covers all of the buttons. This is a "bead
til you drop" workshop!
