The art of painting reached one of its highest levels of mastery in the Italian Renaissance period. The 14th to 17th century brought forth the masters of fine art. The works of Michelangelo, Raphael, Boticelli, Titian and Leonardo da Vinci left their mark on history, leaving behind passionate and powerful paintings for art lovers to admire for centuries to come.

Art to Wear Necklace ©2012 by Cynthia RutledgeUsing the female form for most of his work, the Pre-Raphaelite style of John Waterhouse (1849-1917) paintings leaves the viewer being reminded of the Italian masters. Focusing on Italian themes and scenery and classical mythology, Waterhouse painted some of the most beautiful women and men in his over 200 paintings.

Art To Wear Necklace utilizes an oval porcelain cameo with image reproductions of woman from Renaissance and Victorian paintings. Handmade in the USA, these little works of art provide the centerpiece of this design. A straightforward beaded bezel frames the cameo giving the centerpiece an old-world look. Two CZ trillions are bezeled and attached to the centerpiece and the necklace using beaded jump-rings. A unique approach to a beaded cap adds the extra touch to a pearl drop, providing movement. The necklace is Right-Angle-Weave with pearls ending in two beaded ball closures. The final result…Art To Wear!
